Sherry E. Grant
Sherry E. Grant, a founding partner in the law firm of Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack, Grant, Felton & Goldstein, LLP (GEK), is well-known and well-respected not only for her legal acumen in the area of Workers' Compensation law, but also for inspiring others to be their best through her teaching, mentoring and leadership.
One of the first women to practice in the areas of Workers' Compensation and Labor Law, Ms. Grant has spent more than 30 years at GEK, fighting for the rights of those who have been injured on the job. A California State Bar Certified Workers' Compensation Specialist, she represents a wide variety of workers in both public and private sectors, including teachers, airline employees, nurses, public safety officers, janitors, social workers, healthcare and utility workers.

Ms. Grant has been ranked consistently on a list of Southern California Super Lawyers® and is repeatedly selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America.® She received the 2nd Annual Marvin Shapiro Award for Excellence, presented by the Southern California Chapter of the California Applicants' Attorneys Association (CAAA), and, most recently, became a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Judicial Elections Evaluation Committee.
While helping to lead the charge for justice on behalf of injured workers, Ms. Grant fought hard against the legislative "reforms" in 2004 that could have wiped out the rights of those hurt at work. She, along with fellow CAAA members (including her own partners) did not back down when Senate Bill 899, under then-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, codified the use of the American Medical Association (AMA) Guides to determine a worker's impairment. In fact, she co-authored an e-book titled, Pearls of the AMA Guides, which is a guideline to the AMA's reference book.
With the additional legislative "take-away" reforms in 2012, Ms. Grant, along with her colleagues, continues to advocate on behalf of injured workers in California.
A firm believer that knowledge is power, Ms. Grant shares what she has learned not only with her colleagues, but also with labor representatives and injured workers. It is just one reason why she has long received an AV Preeminent® rating by Martindale Hubbell. It is a testament to the fact that her peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence.
Ms. Grant received a JD from Loyola University with honors in 1974.
