Women Leading the Way and Daring To Be
Dare to Be. A theme comprised of three words that leave a lot of room for interpretation, inspiration and introspection. Which is undoubtedly what the Los Angeles County Women's Leadership Committee had in mind while they were planning their seventh annual conference. And they succeeded spectacularly, as witnessed by the women from the law firm of Gordon, Edelstein, Krepack, Grant, Felton & Goldstein, LLP (GEK) who attended the event and met with attendees at the firm's booth.
"This is always such a wonderful event that brings women—and some men—together for a day that is always inspiring and informative," says GEK partner Sherry Grant. "This year was particularly powerful because the theme touched upon so many possibilities in one's life—to dare to be connected, to just be you….. These are things that I think we often forget about as we lead our busy lives, but they are very important."
The day was about courage, confidence and overcoming whatever is holding you back, with speeches and breakout sessions that provoked thought and emboldened conversation.
According to the committee, "The Women's Leadership Conference was founded on the belief that each of us is unique, beautiful and strong and that we all have a role in making this world a better place."
GEK Senior Attorney Erika Vargas feels the committee always hits its mark. "Once again, we met some amazing people during the day. It's always inspiring to see and hear women leaders in our community. This is one of my favorite events during the year. I always leave invigorated and with plenty of food for thought."
