Legislating Change

Back to Advocacy »

The legislative process can be an arduous one, but it is the only way ideas can be transformed into laws.

The bicycling community in California is comprised of more than 30 local coalitions. Their statewide partner is The California Bicycle Coalition (CBC). This non-profit education and lobbying organization is dedicated to improving bicycling conditions throughout the state.

To that end, the CBC sponsors a wide variety of legislation designed to enhance the bicycling experience.

On a national level, the League of American Bicyclists is committed to promoting bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation. Advocacy through legislation is one of the main goals of this membership-based organization.
