Safe Schools Now!
Attorney Howard D. Krepack recently called on Los Angeles school officials to step up their efforts to stop violence on LAUSD campuses. “Every parent must feel secure that their children will be safe in class. And authorities must act fairly and quickly if there is a problem, especially involving racial tensions,” Krepack told a roomful of reporters and TV cameras gathered at the law firm’s offices.

Krepack was discussing the case of Giovany Casasola, an eighth grader at Bret Harte Middle School who was ignored after he complained of being robbed on the South Central L.A. campus. Also appearing at the Dec. 15 press conference were Casasola’s brother Abel and their mother, Elsa Urrutia, and student Guadalupe Cariño and her mother, Berta Cariño.
